The Song of Lunch

He leaves a message, a yellow sticky,
on the dead black
of his computer screen:
gone to lunch. i may be some time.

His colleagues won’t be seeing him
for the rest of the afternoon.
Rare joy of truancy, of bold escape
from the trap of work!

That heap of typescript can be left to dwell
on its thousand offences
against grammar and good sense;
his trusty blue pen
can snooze with its cap on;
nobody will notice.

He shuts the door on the sleeping dog
of his own departure,
hurries not too fast along the corridor,
taps the lift button, and waits.

The Song of LUnch este o adaptare tv a poemului omonim scris de Cristopher Ried. Filmul ii are ca protagonisti pe Alan Rickman si Emma Thomson si a fost realizat cu ocazia Lunii Poeziei din Londra, de catre BBC.
Cu toate ca dureaza aproximativ 50 de minute filmul este foarte solicitant pentru ca este format din scurte dialoguri si monolog al prezentarii actiunii facute de catre personajul masculin.
Povestea ii prezinta pe cei doi protagonisti, el un poet, marea sa dragoste, casatorita in prezent cu un romancier, luand masa impreuna, dupa 15 ani. Fiecare gest, de la ridicarea paharului la drescrierea cerceilor ei, de la sunetul facut de porumbei si pana la o masa de barbati galagiosi sunt prezentati in monologul poemului. De fapt actiunile se desfasoara pe monologul de de fapt derprezinta poemul propriu zis.


Filmul mi-a fost recomandat de Raluca, o persoana importanta mie, un prieten bun, o femeie puternica si inteligenta si pentru asta ii multumesc mult. Nici un film nu va mai fi la fel de aici in colo, datorita acestui film voi analiza fiecare detaliu, pentru ca detaliile pierd in film, fata de lectura.
